Baba Sala’s last wish was for Nigerians to help him but help never came
Veteran comedian and filmmaker, Moses Olaiya, better known as Baba Sala, has finally passed on at the age of 82.
Comedian Gbenga Adeyinka broke the news on Tuesday night via Instagram...
He shared,“We lost him. What a great loss! An icon is gone.” But his death should not come as a surprise for showbiz followers. Before now, he had been reported dead many times. Baba Sala fell ill and solicited for funds to treat himself, but no one came to his rescue.
He disclosed his illness at a briefing held on his biography due for presentation on December 4.
He stated, “I need help. Nigerians should help me. I am not dead yet; they should not let me die suffering”, he said.
Baba Sala’s first son, Reverend Dele Adejumo, had said he was suffering from poor medical treatment, as all his investments had been poorly managed.
Adejumo said, “He has investments, but they have all been wrecked by mismanagement. He also had a three-storey building in Mushin, Lagos, which he had to sell to offset debt incurred when his work, Orun Mooru, was pirated.

“We have been told that baba needs a lot of money for medical treatment abroad. He is suffering from a stroke and other ailments.
“There are many people of his age who are not like this. We are trying our best as family members. We take him to the teaching hospital weekly but he needs proper medical attention.”

Teacher dies after flogging student in her class in Anambra State.
Tragedy struck the quiet town of Ogidi in Anambra state on Wednesday, 29th November, 2017 after a teacher died after flogging a student in her class.
According to reporter Eze Amadi, the mother of one 14-year-old Okafor Chinaza, a student of starlight secondary school, Ogidi – fought and killed her daughter’s teacher for flogging her.
According to information gathered: It was said that the student in question was flogged by her Igbo teacher and class mistress earlier in the morning for not sweeping the class according to class roster. When the teacher walked in to teach them, she found out that the class was dirty as she questioned the student why she didn’t carry out her duty. The student allegedly responded in an insulting manner to the teacher according to fellow student’s present in the class room.
In response, the teacher asked her to kneel down before the class but the student reportedly refused as the teacher annoyingly flogged her and she fled the class from the school fence, and ran home.
As at 3:23pm same day, she came back with a lady believed to be her mother and a young man who claimed to be the uncle. According to starlight secondary school security, she refused to introduce herself properly as she forced her way into the school and went to the classroom of the girl to find out that the said teacher had gone for private school teachers meeting same day. She was directed to the Proprietress’ office when they found out she had come for her daughter’s issue with a teacher of the school named Odilinye Rita.
According to the Proprietress, she said that she was with one of her employee named Okamelu Tochukwu (Physics Teacher) when the woman came to her office to vent her anger.
I was in my office with one of my teachers when she came in, after her report and confirmation from the students that the teacher flogged the said Okafor Chinaza, I pleaded with the mother and uncle to allow the school dive into the issue with diplomacy as revenge won’t yield needed result. She had accepted to forget and forgive as I promised her that we will handle the case with ease.
The teacher was believed to be coming back from the private teachers meeting she went to, when she met the student’s people. Upon getting close to them, the student who came with her mother and other relatives, pointed at the teacher to the mother as she rushed to hit her (the teacher) with the stick she had come with. After a while, the teacher collapsed and was rushed to Iyi-Enu Hospital Ogidi where the doctor confirmed her dead moments later.

What is the sweetest thing about love?
Love such a beautiful word in itself. Love is everything a living social animal needs. Love is equally prioritised among animals.
So love is a beautiful feeling which is felt by people in different ways.
- When a baby is born, the love he first feels is by his mother and father.
- The way they take care of a baby is love.
- Family, siblings, relatives all show care and concern towards someone that is love.
- If you feel butterflies when some person says you something or look at you in a particle
More Shocking Pictures Of Slave Trade, Killing, Torture In Libya
This is indeed shocking and disheartening to learn that slavery is still going on in this modern Africa. What is the problem with the men? Now I know without laws, men are worst that animals. Must they take Africans as slaves? What is UN and the rest doing about this?
Frankly, I don’t understand why average Africans are the most barbaric set of people in the whole universe. Aside From those perpetrating this crime, even the continent and even the country this evil is exhibited are adamant and silent about it. Anytime evil happens in Africa, its the whites that protest and condemn it in totality while the main continent where such is happening is at ease and indifferent.
The UN, AU, and ECOWAS are urgently called upon to act and free these young Africans held in ‘Slave Markets’ in Libya. What a hell is this nonsense?
Recently the footage of live auction in Libya where black youths are presented to North African buyers as potential farmer and sold off for as little as $400, $500, $600 respectively is disturbing and worrisome.
Below are photos of the mayhem going on in Libya
4 camp rules corps members don't make fuss about
National Youth Service Corp orientation camp is a regimented environment full of rules that are upheld by soldiers, Man O war officials and Police officers.
In the face of these uniform men, you can not afford to mess up. Even if you do with Police and the Man' O war guys, you dare not try to look the soldiers in the face, they will impress you with how well they use Koboko.
These men's job is to make sure all corps embers keep to the NYSC rules and regulations through out their three weeks orientation programs.
Because of the so many rules that govern the camp, corps members often find themselves violating one rule or the other out of exuberance.
Breaking some of these rules could attract trial at the camp court. However, there are subtle to that corp members easily comply with and don't bother to violate.
Light Out:
Every activity in NYSC campnationwide is brought to an end at 10pm when the beagle sounds for light out. Once the beagle blower comes around to announce light out, soldiers move around to ensure all corps members are in their hostels. Whoever is caught outside the hostel is punished.
Standing still for Nigeria:
Another rule that is religiously observed in the camp has to do with paying respect to Nigeria when she is going to bed at 6pm.
This in all camps is a moment of no movement when Corps members are expected to stand still wherever they are once the trumpet is blown to lower the flag. Any corp member caught moving while this is being observed could find himself in trouble with the soldiers.
Wearing 6/7 for swearing in ceremony.
The swearing-in ceremony is usually done in the first week of the orientation camp opening. This ceremony requires all corps members to wear their NYSC attire which entails the cap, crested vest, khaki trouser, belt, socks and jungle boot, except the Khaki shirt.
White shirt on parade ground:
There is nothing required of all corp members to wear to the parade ground than their white shirts and shorts. The all-white attire is for the parade ground and the NYSC rule does not permit you to wear anything on it. Not even your Khaki shirt.
Of all the orientation camp rules, the bulk of corp members hardly grumble about these four. They readily accept them and make no fuss about these rules.
Corps Members Can Now Serve Abroad
Sharp Guys: Checkout The Little Things Men Do That Women Fall For
Contrary to the popular belief among people especially men that money is the ultimate thing women find interesting in a man but there are lots of other things that women do consider attractive in a man, and if as a man, you are able to pull them off effortlessly, only a few women would be able to turn you down so easily.
Do not be deceived; women aren’t all about the money and material things. Below are some things women find attractive in men.
1. LOOKING GOOD
The same way men like a woman who knows how to look good, women also find a good-looking man very attractive, in fact, how good or bad you look as a man can go a long way in affecting what impression you leave on a woman, from your skin to your teeth, nails, and dressing, women notice everything and if you cover every area well, they’ll fancy you. It’s not really all about facial beauty; of course, that is an added advantage for anyone, but it’s more about your ability to look neat and smooth effortlessly.
2. SMELLING GOOD
This is a part a lot of people don’t seem to attach enough importance but it is as important as looking good, there’s something appealing about a good-smelling person and women love it, you mustn’t have an obnoxious body odour before you think about getting a good cologne and every fashionable and right-thinking man ought to have one, it is a good fashion accessory, and you’re incomplete without it.
3. BEING FUNNY
The ability to make people laugh is a rare quality, so this makes the few who can pull it off seem very special, ever wondered why comedians have beautiful women in their lives? You think it’s because they’re rich? —not exactly true, women love to laugh; so once any guy is able to crack them up, they’re automatically endeared to him.
4. SMILING
Nothing is as welcoming as a genuine smile, it gives people the impression that you are warm, friendly, tolerant and accommodating— everything women want in a man, they don’t want someone who’s too serious about everything, they want someone who’s genuinely friendly, and a smile sells you out as that sort of person and smiling also makes you look charming and adorable.
5. TALKING SOFTLY
I don’t know what and why, but there’s something attractive to women about a soft-spoken man; a man who doesn’t talk very loudly or too inaudibly, but speak with a soft, tender tone. Women fancy it, and this is a fact.
5 Foods That Reduces Blood Pressure - The Trent
High Blood Pressure which causes stroke, hypertension and heart attack is quite prevalent in the society today because of anxiety and overthinking. But do you know that there are some foods that you can eat to lower blood pressure? Jumia Food, Nigeria’s No. 1 food ordering platform, shares some of these foods.

A daily dose of a cold glass of milk offers a solid serving of both calcium and vitamin D, nutrients that work as a team to help lower blood pressure by 3 to 10 percent.
Eggs
Egg whites can help reduce blood pressure as it is a solid source of protein, vitamin D, and other healthy nutrients. These nutrients can effectively counter high BP and take it down to a minimal level.

6 Easy Ways to Prevent Kidney Stones
Did you know that one in ten people will have a kidney stone over the course of a lifetime? Recent studies have shown that kidney stone rates are on the rise across the country. Those in the know believe that some major misconceptions may be the culprit.
The National Kidney Foundation has teamed up with Dr. Allan Jhagroo, a kidney stone specialist at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and PublicHealth, to help you stay stone-free by debunking some of the major kidney stone myths and misconceptions.
Here are the top 6 kidney stone prevention tips:
- Don’t Underestimate Your Sweat. Saunas, hot yoga and heavy exercise may be good for your health, but they also may lead to kidney stones. Why? Loss of water through sweating – whether due to these activities or just the heat of summer—leads to less urine production. The more you sweat, the less you urinate, which allows for stone-causing minerals to settle and bond in the kidneys and urinary tract.
Instead: Hydrate with H2O. One of the best measures you can take to avoid kidney stones is to drink plenty of water, leading you to urinate a lot. So, be sure to keep well hydrated, especially when engaging in exercise or activities that cause a lot of sweating. - It’s Not Just the Oxalate. Oxa-what? Oxalate is naturally found in many foods, including fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, grains, legumes, and even chocolate and tea. Some examples of foods that contain high levels of oxalate include: peanuts, rhubarb, spinach, beets, chocolate and sweet potatoes. Moderating intake of these foods may be beneficial for people who form calcium oxalate stones, the leading type of kidney stones. A common misconception is that cutting the oxalate-rich foods in your diet alone will reduce the likelihood of forming calcium oxalate kidney stones. While in theory this might be true, this approach isn’t smart from an overall health perspective. Most kidney stones are formed when oxalate binds to calcium while urine is produced by the kidneys.
Instead: Eat and drink calcium and oxalate-rich foods together during a meal. In doing so, oxalate and calcium are more likely to bind to one another in the stomach and intestines before the kidneys begin processing, making it less likely that kidney stones will form. - Calcium is Not the Enemy. But it tends to get a bad rap! Most likely due to its name and composition, many are under the impression that calcium is the main culprit in calcium-oxalate stones. “I still see patients who wonder why they are getting recurring stones despite cutting down on their calcium intake,” said Dr. Jhagroo. “I’ve even had patients say that their doctors told them to reduce their calcium intake.” A diet low in calcium actually increases one’s risk of developing kidney stones.
Instead: Don’t reduce the calcium. Work to cut back on the sodium in your diet and to pair calcium-rich foods with oxalate-rich foods. - It’s Not One and Done. Passing a kidney stone is often described as one of the most painful experiences a person can have, but unfortunately, it’s not always a one-time event. Studies have shown that having even one stone greatly increases your chances of having another. “Most people will want to do anything they can to ensure it doesn’t happen again,” said Dr. Jhagroo. “Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be the case that people make the changes they need to after their first stone event.” Research conducted by Dr. Jhagroo shows that those with kidney stones do not always heed the advice of their nephrologists and urinary specialists. About 15% of kidney stone patients didn’t take prescribed medications and 41% did not follow the nutritional advice that would keep stones from recurring.
Instead: Take action! Without the right medications and diet adjustments, stones can come back, and recurring kidney stones also could be an indicator of other problems, including kidney disease. - When Life Hands You Kidney Stones… don’t fret. And as the saying goes, “make lemonade.” It’s important to consider dietary remedies alongside prescription medications. While it may seem easier to just take a pill to fix a medical problem, consider what lifestyle changes will also make a big impact on your health.
Instead: Next time you drive past a lemonade (or limeade) stand, consider your kidneys. Chronic kidney stones are often treated with potassium citrate, but studies have shown that limeade, lemonade and other fruits and juices high in natural citrate offers the same stone-preventing benefits. Beware of the sugar, though, because it can increase kidney stone risk. Instead, buy sugar-free lemonade, or make your own by mixing lime or lemon juice with water and using a sugar substitute if needed. “We believe that citrate in the urine may prevent the calcium from binding with other constituents that lead to stones,” said Dr. Jhagroo. “Also, some evidence suggests that citrate may prevent crystals that are already present from binding with each other, thus preventing them from getting bigger.” - Not All Stones are Created Equal. In addition to calcium oxalate stones, another common type of kidney stones is uric acid stones. Red meat, organ meats, and shellfish have high concentrations of a natural chemical compound known as purines. “High purine intake leads to a higher production of uric acid and produces a larger acid load for the kidneys to excrete,” said Dr. Jhagroo. Higher uric acid excretion leads to lower overall urine pH, which means the urine is more acidic. The high acid concentration of the urine makes it easier for uric acid stones to form.
Instead: To prevent uric acid stones, cut down on high-purine foods such as red meat, organ meats, and shellfish, and follow a healthy diet that contains mostly vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and low fat dairy products. Limit sugar-sweetened foods and drinks, especially those that contain high fructose corn syrup. Limit alcohol because it can increase uric acid levels in the blood and avoid crash diets for the same reason..Eating less animal-based protein and eating more fruits and vegetables will help decrease urine acidity and this will help reduce the chance for stone formation.

11 tiny daily habits that are wasting your time — even if you don't notice you're doing them
- Certain strategies and habits are an enormous waste of time.
- It's a good idea to identify what tactics are actually slowing you down, so you can cut them out of your life.
- From telling people of your plans to neglecting deadlines, here's a roundup of some habits you should drop immediately.
We're all running out of time. There aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done. That's just life.
However, if you feel like your inability to schedule your days is ruining your performance at work, that's probably a bad sign.
It's important to identify and drop harmful time-wasting tendencies before they seriously mess up your career.
Here are 11 wasteful time management habits that are tricky to quit — but you'll thank yourself once you do:
11. Telling everybody about your goals
Gabbing about your goals is a waste of time.
Plus, Business Insider contributor Daniel Wesley writes that talking about your plans actually makes you less likely to carry them out. He writes that the very act of talking about your goals "tricks the brain" into thinking you've already accomplished your mission. That, in turn, saps your motivation.
Instead of telling everybody what you're about to do, take a cue from Niké and just do it.
10. Forgetting to write things down
You might feel too busy and stressed to have time to keep track of what you've been up to. However, if you're going to manage your time properly, you've got to keep records.
It's a strategy that works pretty well for major players in the business world, including Bill Gates, Sheryl Sandberg, and Richard Branson.
9. Failing to prioritize
You might fall into this trap if you rely too much on to-do lists.
Certain tasks are more deserving of your time and attention than others. Unless you're carefully ranking each item on your list, you risk lacking priorities throughout the day. Lack of priorities puts you at risk for cutting through busy work while ignoring truly important projects.
Success.com's Tony Jeary recommends eliminating needless points from your to-do lists and ensuring that you tackle your high-priority tasks at the time of day when you're most energetic.
8. Burning yourself out
You're addicted to being busy. You're juggling your job, your side job, your side hustle, and your personal life — sooner or later, you're going to drop something and the whole routine's going to come crashing down.
Burn out is terrible. Stop killing yourself trying to do everything and start focusing on doing a handful of things very well.
And if you're already suffering from burnout, a little rest and relaxationwon't cut it, according to the Harvard Business Review. Monique Valcour writes that shifting your whole perspective on work is usually necessary, as well as seeking out "rich interpersonal interactions and continual personal and professional development."
7. Forgetting that perfect is the enemy of good
It's a cliché but it's true: perfect is the enemy of the good. You've got to let go of your perfectionist tendencies if you're going to succeed at revamping your time management tendencies.
Perfectionists spend all their time trying to make each project perfect. The end result is a snail-like pace and aggravation for everyone involved.
Perfectionism is a hard tendency to drop, but it's important to realize thatthis is a trait that can kill, rather than boost, your career, Business Insider previously reported.
6. Failing to 'eat a frog'
No, eating an actual frog won't help your time management skills.
This just refers to Mark Twain's famous quote: "Eat a live frog first thing in the morning and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day."
Eat your live frog first thing in the morning. Get all the tasks you've been dreading done first. That'll jump start your productivity for the rest of the day.
"It's a really good idea to deal with the things you hate first thing in the morning," career expert Bernard Marrwrites on LinkedIn. "This will make you more productive and will free the rest of the day up – without the dark cloud over your head for the rest of the day, week or month."
5. Not setting goals
Yeah, yeah the beauty's in the journey, but if you have no clue about your destination, you're probably just going to get yourself lost.
"Research shows that actually setting a specific goal makes us more likely to achieve the things we want, and is important especially when we want to make a change," writes Dr. Will Meek in Psychology Today.
It can a bit daunting to sit down and outline all this, but think of it this way: without short and long term goals, you have no foundation to build your schedule upon.
4. Never saying no
Your time is precious. Defend it. Guard it fiercely. Don't get suckered into wasting time on trivial things that don't matter to you.
Try to stick up for your time and become less of a yes man. Plus, there are ways of saying "no" that will ensure that you don't offend anyone, Business Insider previously reported.
3. Neglecting deadlines
Maybe you're just so talented that your boss begrudgingly accepts your tardy work. Maybe you're just in a very chill work environment.
Either way, flaunting deadlines is a terrible habit to get into. It's crucial to start holding yourself accountable for missed deadlines, or your could fall into a terrible cycle.
"If there's no accountability, there’s no reason to actually stick to them," Kayla Matthews writes in The Muse.
2. Procrastination
I'll tell you all about how easy it is to procrastinate ... later.
Seriously though, this is probably one of the hardest bad habits to quit, but it's possible to break free of procrastination's stranglehold on your precious time, Business Insider previously reported.
"The Guide to Self-Knowledge" author Mark Manson told Business Insider's Shana Lebowitz that he recommends using writing to "defuse" from our emotions, which are often the real reason behind our procrastination.
1. Multitasking
Contrary to what you might think, multitasking doesn't boost your productivity. Business Insider previously reported that the science indicates that only 2% of the population can multitask at all. The rest of us are just switching between tasks really quickly.
This slows you down, causes dumb mistakes, dries up your creativity and takes you out of the moment. Forbes reported that it can decrease your productivity by as much as 40%.
It's easy to trap yourself into this work style by convincing yourself that you're being hyper-efficient. However, the evidence just isn't there.
