Stop Sleeping On Your Stomach: 7 Reasons Why

You know those tests that tell you which character type you are by the position you prefer to sleep in? I wish they also explained that not all of them are good for you.
Sleeping on your stomach, tummy, belly, abdomen, gut, the front of your back etc. is comfortable for sure, but it’s also bad for your health, and sometimes – even dangerous.

Let’s take a look at the 7 reasons why:
1: Limited Blood Flow to the Brain
Doctor said the artery near your back bone get constricted because your head is turned sideway. This as a result leads to limited blood to the brain.

2: Less Efficient Breathing
Another bad thing about sleeping on your stomach is that your chest is compressed which invariably makes breathing not effectible.

This will not allow you to get enough oxygen throughout your whole body thereby causing you to feel tired in the morning.

3: The Stomach Also Suffers
Sleeping on your tummy allows your stomach to suffer and hinders it from functioning properly. Even doing this on a full stomach can cause acid reflux leading to ulcer.

4: Wrinkles!
Holding your face down to the bed all through the night leads to puffiness of the face which eventually leads to wrinkle.
This sleeping habit reduces the circulation of air and blood to the face.

5: Stiff and Sore neck
Having your neck stuck to one position over the night is bad, which is as a result of sleeping with stomach face to the bed.
This will probably cause damage to the neck and stiffness early in the morning.

6: Too Much Pressure on Your Backbone
The backbone also suffers when you sleep tummy faced to the ground. Doing this for a long time stresses the back bone and this can cause a shorter backbone.

7: Rise of Arterial Pressure
Sleeping on your tummy causes excessive heart rate if you have problem with the heart.

Conclusion
There are quite a large number of people who sleep on their stomachs, despite the disadvantages of this position.
This could be putting a strain on their spine and neck, which might result in herniated disk disorder or nerve problems.
