Do not ignore red flags in relationships

The sparkle from a new partnership can be blinding at times and we tend to lose sight of our objectivity, having a ready reason for negative behavior noticed.
If your partner is quick to anger, be watchful. Getting angry is a norm and can be done in a safe manner. How does he behave when pushed to the wall? Does he yell or throw things about? Is his anger directed at you? Does he scare you, no matter how little?
Extreme possessiveness is another red flag. It is good to know what is happening with your partner but this should be within reason. “Who were you with? Who smiled at you? Who just called you? What exact time did you leave work? How come you are five minutes late today?”, and so on are signs of overly-possessive behavior you should not ignore.
Is your partner extremely secretive about details of their life you should know? Are there a lot of gaps you cannot fill up with clear answers? A secretive partner lives a double life that will come back and bite you in the ass. The sad truth is you cannot have a successful relationship if it is built on lies and deceit.
Do not do that! Stop ignoring those indications that make you uneasy. Stop pushing them away. There is a reason they are called “red” flags; red here translates to danger.  They are dangerous to your wellbeing and happiness. You deserve to be happy!
