“He who has a why to live for can bear almost anything.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche
“Life is a journey of lines, dots and zeroes, you have to connect the dots and avoid the zeroes” This was the first sentence that greeted me, immediately I opened my grandfather’s “Note to younger self diary”. Confused and afraid, I dumped the diary and try to search for something more easy and purposeful.
As a young man, I was always running after things that were so easy, quick and can bring immediately gratification. I was a fan of the “Shortcut trap” I cherish the easy way and most times I failed to look at the bigger picture. Sometimes, it works for me, other times, i failed so big. I have made millions of mistakes most of which has affected me positively, negatively and otherwise.
“The path to our destination is not always a straight one. We go down the wrong road, we get lost, we turn back. Maybe it doesn’t matter which road we embark on. Maybe what matters is that we embark.” ―Barbara Hall
I have stayed at a wrong road a few times,
I have travel on the right road many times,
I have understand the weights of pains and regrets,
and I have seen the value of patience, resilience and good work.
I have travel on the right road many times,

and I have seen the value of patience, resilience and good work.
My grandfather’s diary was a daily dose of knowledge, highlighting his experience, mistakes, regrets and lessons. And one thing, I want you to know which is boldly written on the last page of his diary his: “You can change your story at any point in your life, forget the mistakes and the pain of regrets, just learn the lesson fast and move on.
“It doesn’t matter what you did or where you were…it matters where you are and what you’re doing. Get out there! Sing the song in your heartand NEVER let anyone shut you up!!”
― Steve Maraboli
After wandering for years on my own, I finally had the courage to open my grandfather’s diary and this is what I learn:
1. Life is a journey of lines, dots and zeroes: Lines represent opportunities; dots is how you connect one opportunity to another and zeros represent missed opportunity.
2. Your success does not depends on lines or zeroes but on the dots, you have to study, understand and connect the dots well no matter how hard it seems.
3. They will always be zeros because offunny deals and negative opportunities, don’t let it bother you, once you say no to a line, jump on to the next one and don’t look back.
4. Always think of the why, when you are doing anything, and if your life seems to go the wrong way, change the dots and jump the line.
