We have heard of people who carry the photos of those they intend to marry to men of God for prayers, to find out if he or she is the right one or they are compatible. But many of such people forget what is most important, which is medical test 

Marriage is no child’s play, so before you decide to walk down the aisle with the love of your life, you need to go for some medical tests to avoid unwanted and unneeded stress and problems later in marriage.
1. Infertility test
Since there are no clear symptoms of infertility, this will help check how healthy the ovaries are and the sperm count.

3. STD test
Marrying someone who has sexually transmitted diseases can cause serious problems in the marriage as some are life threatening. It is good for you and your partner to get tested for STD so you don’t have any surprises when you get married. The earlier you know, the better. This way, you can decide if you want to go ahead with the wedding or not.

4. Genetically transmitted conditions test
It is important to get tested for genetic conditions as they can be easily transferred from one generation to the other. At least, you get to know the medical background of the family you’re marrying to.

This test also helps find out whether one or both partners are carriers of the sickle cell gene (AS). Timely diagnosis will assist couples make informed choices to avoid birthing children who are sicklers (SS).
5. Mental health assessment
With the kind of news we get to hear these days of things going on in marriages, this is one test that should not be overlooked. We have heard stories of brutal things spouses do to their better half and you’re left wondering how a sane person would have done such.

Some of those violent behaviors you see your spouse exhibiting are not normal. He or she might be mentally unstable.
